Note: If you are interested in doing a school-based placement with the LDANR, please complete the application form, including the necessary placement information, and a Program Coordinator will reach out to you to discuss placement availability. Please note, we use the terms volunteer and placement student interchangeably.

Important Information for Volunteers

  • All new and returning program volunteers are required to participate in mandatory training prior to commencing their duties at the LDANR, which includes: program training, an LDANR orientation, AODA training, and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) training.
  • All program volunteers 18 years of age or older must obtain and provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) conducted within one year prior to commencing their involvement with the LDANR, at their own expense (there is a small cost to obtain a PVSC). For information about applying for a PVSC, please visit your local police department website. Please note, it usually takes weeks for a vulnerable sector check to be processed, so don’t wait!

Volunteers of the Month

The heart of a volunteer is not measured in size, but by the depth of the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others.” – DeAnn Hollis

We would like to thank all of our fantastic volunteers for their help in furthering our mission of providing support to individuals with learning disabilities! The LDANR would not be possible without the commitment and dedication of all of our volunteers. Some of our volunteers demonstrate an extra level of dedication that inspires us. Each month, the LDANR recognizes one outstanding volunteer, and we feature them on our website and in our agency newsletter. Congratulations to our volunteers of the month on their extraordinary efforts!
