Important Information for Volunteers
- Mandatory Training: All new and returning program volunteers are required to attend mandatory training prior to attending program.
- Mandatory Vulnerable Sector Checks: All program volunteers over 18 years of age must provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) less than a year old. If you are a Niagara resident, you can CLICK HERE to apply for a PVSC online. If you are NOT a resident of Niagara, please contact your local police department to determine how you can obtain a PVSC. Please note, there is a small cost to obtain a PVSC, and it usually takes weeks for processing, so don’t wait!
2021/2022 Volunteer of the Year: Mackenzie McRae
Mackenzie has been a dedicated volunteer of our Reading Rocks program for many seasons now. She has been reliable, engaging, and worked tirelessly to develop literacy lessons to help her various students grasp different concepts. She has always been someone we can count on to fill in our volunteer spots and it has been an absolute pleasure to have her on our Reading Rocks team.
Volunteers of the Month
“The heart of a volunteer is not measured in size, but by the depth of the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others.” – DeAnn Hollis
We would like to thank all of our fantastic volunteers for their help in furthering our mission of providing support to individuals with learning disabilities! The LDANR would not be possible without the commitment and dedication of all of our volunteers. Some of our volunteers demonstrate an extra level of dedication that inspires us. Each month, the LDANR recognizes one outstanding volunteer, and we feature them on our website and in our agency newsletter. Congratulations to our volunteers of the month on their extraordinary efforts!
