Important Info for Volunteers
- Mandatory Training: All new and returning program volunteers are required to attend mandatory training prior to attending program.
- Mandatory Vulnerable Sector Checks: All program volunteers over 18 years of age must provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) less than a year old. To apply for a PVSC you must bring two pieces of government identification to the police station. If you are not a resident of Niagara, but have a temporary Niagara address, you must also bring with you proof of current local address. A volunteer PVSC costs $20. For more information on applying for a PVSC, click here. Please note, it usually takes weeks for a vulnerable sector check to be processed, so don’t wait!
- Mandatory completion of the Accessibility of Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Training Module. AODA Training can be completed here.
“The heart of a volunteer is not measured in size, but by the depth of the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others.” – DeAnn Hollis
