Math Webinars

Number Sense Foundations

This webinar focuses on helping your child make sense of numbers and recognize the relationships between quantities. Many learning activities are provided following a progression from basic counting to place value concepts and representing, ordering and comparing whole numbers (or fractions/decimals for our older students).

Developing Operational Sense

This webinar focuses on helping your child develop computational fluency with each of the four operations. Many learning activities and games will be provided following a progression from addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with whole numbers (or fractions/decimals for our older students). 

Measurement

This webinar focuses on helping your child develop essential principles of measurement. Many learning activities and games will be provided on age-appropriate measurement topics including nonstandard and standard units, perimeter and area, mass, capacity and volume, as well as telling time.

Geometry and Spatial Sense

This webinar focuses on helping your child develop an understanding of the big ideas in geometry and spatial sense. Many learning activities and games are provided on age-appropriate geometry topics (i.e. classify and construct shapes and figures) and home learning activities that promote spatial awareness and reasoning are included as well.

Patterning and Algebra

This webinar focuses on helping your child identify, extend and construct age-appropriate patterns and begin to develop their algebraic reasoning. Many learning activities and games are provided on repeating/growing/shrinking patterns, the concept of equality and beginning to explore the use of variables in simple equations (for our older students).

Data Management & Probability

This webinar focuses on helping your child develop concepts within the data management and probability strand. Many learning activities and games are provided on topics including conducting surveys, creating graphs, interpreting data and probability experiments.


Literacy Webinars

Introduction to Phonics

This webinar focuses on outlining the key phonics principles and how you can incorporate them into various games, activities and daily tasks. Many learning activities are provided relating to alphabet knowledge, phonemes and blending and segmenting.

Introduction to Sight Words

Learn more about The Dolch Sight Words and their importance to learning how to read. Through this webinar we explore how to support your child with fun games and activities you can do from home!

What is a Book Crawl?

Learn more about using story time to enhance your child’s understanding of books, reading and more. Sara will walk you through example questions you can ask your child while reading aloud to them, how to introduce concepts such as authors, illustrators and proper book handling. 

Printing and Fine Motor
