Reading Rocks Junior

ELKP – Grade 1

Reading Rocks Junior is a small-group early literacy intervention program for children struggling with their early literacy skills. Children work on foundational skills such as letter names and sounds, early sight words and printing through fun, interactive games and activities. Some one-on-one support is also provided in their area of greatest need.

COVID-19 Update:

Given the progression of the COVID-19 outbreak and the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming school year, the LDANR made the decision to continue our suspension of in-person programming. It has been determined that minimizing face-to-face interaction between our program participants, caregivers, and staff would be the best measure to ensure safety at this time.

Unfortunately, all Reading Rocks Junior (RRJ) program sites have been cancelled for the foreseeable future. Updates regarding the status of future RRJ sites will be added to this page once in-person programming resumes.

What people are saying about Reading Rocks Junior:

The staff helped create a fun, positive learning experience for my child. Her love of reading seemed to come out due to her confidence she gained! I would highly recommend this program.

My kids liked the program very much. They have started to enjoy reading and know more small words than before. My son knows all his letters now!
