**Important Information for Program Staff

  • Mandatory Training: All new and returning program staff are required to attend mandatory training
  • Mandatory Vulnerable Sector Checks: All program staff must provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) less than a year old. To apply for a PVSC you must bring two pieces of government identification to the police station. If you are not a resident of Niagara, but have a temporary Niagara address, you must also bring with you proof of current local address. A staff PVSC costs $50. For more information on applying for a PVSC, click here. Please note, it usually takes weeks for a vulnerable sector check to be processed, so don’t wait!
  • Mandatory completion of Accessibility of Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) training module – Working Together: The Code and the AODA (click here to access).
  • Mandatory completion of Ministry of Labour Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps training module (click here to access).

Our purpose is to provide resources and support to individuals who are affected by learning disabilities within the Niagara Region. We provide leadership in learning disabilities advocacy, research, education and services, and advance the full participation in society of children, youth and adults with learning differences.
