Join us to learn more about how to become an effective advocate and how to transfer those skills to your child throughout their life.

Target Audience: Caregivers of students with an LD or students with LDs

Join guest speakers Liezanne and Paige Vaccarella for an exciting discussion on advocacy for children with a learning disability.

Liezanne is a psychoeducational consultant and parent of a child with a learning disability. She will discuss navigating the school system and advocate for the support that your child needs for academic success. She will also discuss how to build strong self-advocacy skills in your child.

Paige has started her first year of her Master of Arts at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) in the School and Clinical Child Psychology (SCCP) program. She is extremely passionate about creating accessible and barrier-free education for neurodiverse students. Specifically, her research interests include identifying the barriers that prevent students with learning disabilities (LD) from using assistive technology in the classroom. She was diagnosed with a Learning Disability in the 4th grade, intern making her very passionate about sharing her story, the good and the bad, in hopes of inspiring and supporting other individuals with an LD. She hopes to encourage others to believe that is not only okay to be different but being different can also be your gift.

The webinar will be followed by a question and answer period.

This webinar is generously funded by The Humeniuk Foundation.
