COVID-19: LDANR Update

Given the progression of the COVID-19 outbreak and the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming school year, LDANR has made the decision to continue our suspension of in-person programming. It has been determined that minimizing face-to-face interaction between our program participants, caregivers, and staff would be the best measure to ensure safety at this time.

The LDANR Team have been working diligently to come up with creative solutions to continue to provide services to our program families during this challenging time. With this being noted, we are excited that we have successfully piloted an Online Reading Program (ORP) over the spring and summer months. This online tutoring service is a one-on-one literacy support program offered two times per week, for an eight-week period. This Fall, LDANR will be offering this program once again in place of our Reading Rocks and Let’s R.E.A.D. programs.

In addition to the Online Reading Program, the LDANR Team is excited to announce that we will be offering an online mathematics support program (in place of JUMP Math), an online self-advocacy and coping skills group (in place of B.E.S.T.) and for the first time ever, an online transition program for students in Grades 7-8.

While we understand that in-person services are preferred and proven to be most effective, we are working to provide services that can continue to promote growth and learning during these unprecedented times.

The LDANR office staff continue to work and serve clients remotely for the time being, following the recommendations of public health officials. The LDANR office therefore remains closed to the general public.

We appreciate your patience and understanding, and will continue to provide any updates on the home page of our website.
